Ayahuasca Retreats

Nihue Rao Centro Espiritual

San Juan Bautista, Maynas, near Iquitos, Peru

Nihue Rao Centro Espiritual offers ayahuasca retreats of a minimum 7 days (four ceremonies), with longer stays of 2–4 weeks recommended by the centre for deeper work, plus a separate multi-month “School of Ancestral Knowledge” shamanism apprenticeship track. Ceremonies are led by Maestro Ricardo Amaringo, a Shipibo-Conibo shaman the site describes as having over 44 years of experience and having trained more than 30 apprentices.

The centre publishes a dedicated reviews page on its own site, separate from third-party platforms.

As of July 2026 the centre publishes pricing on its retreats page: US$1,600 for the 7-day starter retreat, rising with length of stay (11–21-day healing retreats, and 1–2-month deep-healing stays listed at up to US$7,500).

This program is held in Peru, where traditional ayahuasca ceremony is legal and culturally protected (see our Peru destination guide). Ayahuasca (which contains DMT) is a prohibited substance in Australia. Australians travel at their own responsibility; this is not medical advice.
